All nursing homes have a three-year registration regime, and renewal for three-year periods. the inspection covers interviews with staff, residents and relatives of residents. Out of the 18 areas covered, 16 were deemed to be fully compliant with the other two of a minor nature. This was a tremendous outcome and reflected so well on the hard work by Susan Anderson, Director of Nursing, and all her staff. Since then we have received our re-registration certificate which will last until April 2018. A wonderful achievement which is attributable to the dedication of our caring staff. The support provided by our administrative and ground staff, catering and the work of the Brabazon Committee on a voluntary basis throughout the year, is also crucial in achieving this status. A Guide to Funding

The Nursing Homes Support Scheme is a scheme of financial support for people who need long-term nursing home care. Fair Deal Under the Nursing Homes Support Scheme, you will make a contribution towards the cost of your care and the State will pay the balance. This applies whether the nursing home is public, private or voluntary. The HSE administers the Fair Deal Scheme within the resources available and in line with the Nursing Home Support Scheme legislation. Applicants cannot avail of State funding for a nursing home place prior to receiving approval of their Fair Deal application. Under the Nursing Home Support Scheme, prices charged by Private Nursing Homes are agreed between the Private Nursing Home and the National Treatment Purchase Fund.
